2025: 35th Annual Research Conference

Exploring Addiction: Research, Regulation and Rehabilitation

The conference aimed to highlight the changing profile of addictions, hearing from researchers and clinicians working across the fields of youth and adult mental health, alongside expert insights into addictions amongst people with intellectual disabilities.  The Gambling Regulatory Authority shared research findings and how these will be actioned to address the rise of gambling addiction. Against the backdrop of a growing challenge, there was a message of hope from someone with lived experience of addiction and recovery. With contributions from the CSO, Department of Health, and TILDA, there was a panel discussion on how to embed research in our services to better respond to the challenge of addictions.

Keynote speakers: Prof Colin O’Gara, Prof Bobby Smyth, Prof Evelien Poelen & Anne Marie Caulfield.
